ICT Mock up of CD Album Cover

Above is my computer mock up of the album cover, this is going to give me a general idea of what my CD cover will look like, from this I can then work on how I wish the poster/digipak to look like because everything needs to consistent, with regards to colours and style etc.

ICT Mock up of Album Cover

Again this is another example of the layout of a music album which I think I could potentially be using when I begin to create my music album cover.

Makeup Pictures

This is a very neutral makeup look and therefore in some ways makes her seem innocent and almost tired like she no longer has the energy or effort to try and look nice. The idea that she has neutral makeup communicates how she doesn't care how she looks anymore which is peculiar because in todays society females are expected to always look nice, as stated in Tessa perkins theory in the code of fashion and beauty that wearing makeup and dressing nicely should be of paramount importance. This is probably going to be one of my chosen makeup looks because it will communicate her stress and exhaustion over her life situation at that point in time.

Here is another image of the process of when we were doing my actresses makeup. All that her makeup consisted of was foundation, powder, and a little bit of mascara, however there were secenes from the video where she has first woke up and she is wearing no makeup at all, again it expresses how much she has given up on everything, when we see images of her clearly lounging about in her house, feeling hopeless, because of the situation that she is in.

Costume Pictures - Bedroom Scene

This is one of the outfits I am considering for the bedroom scene, the idea of a pair of shorts and a pyjama top, creates a sense of normality and makes us realise that she is literally just a normal teenage girl just like anyone else, again it shows her innocence because there are no sexual connotations communicated through the clothing, which is the norm for most music videos especially in bedroom scenes where the artist is normally seen to be wearing pyjamas which are considered to evoke a certain reaction because they are so revealing.

This outfit creates slightly more of an impact because she appears to be wearing a males royal navy t-shirt to go to sleep in. This is good because the t-shirt obviously belongs to her babys dead father, and the fact that she is going to sleep in it is quite important because it communicates how much she cared, loved and relied on this man. It makes us feel sympathy for the character because we realise she is now alone as she has lost the person she loves. Again the black colour of the t-shirt connotes death and loss, which links back to her loss therefore re-enforcing the storyline of the music video.

Costume Pictures - Forest Scene

Today we did some camera shoots and we decided upon a few potential oufits which I believe worked well with my character and the story line in general. When looking at this outfit, I decided upon working against the whole idea of the way females are portrayed in the media, as stated in one of Angela McRobbie's 4 Subcodes there is the "Code of Fashion/Beauty - Wearing make-up and dressing nicely should be of paramount importance". This is interesting because despite the emotional journey that this character takes throughout the story, she could still be dressed nice throughout, to show how a female is expected to look nice no matter what the situation is. However the colours in her outfit also reflect her situation a that time, the idea of the colours grey and black, portray the idea of darkness, depression and emotional problems which is something That I wanted to be communicated towards the audience, because of course she is trying to come to terms with the fact she is pregnant, with a man who is no longer alive.

Again this is the same outfit as the one above except she is wearing a long parka coat with a fur hood. Again the parka coat is a darker colour meaning that it once more portrays the idea that she is feeling very emotional and there are dark thoughts in her mind, and the fact that she is wrapped up in a big long coat, with a furry hood is simply just to show that it's cold.

Here she is wearing a medium length baggy jumper. The idea of the colour being pale, symbolizes her innoncence and the idea that even though she has a child since she is pregnant, she is still a child herself, and still needs the same guidance that any other person her age should expect. This almost makes us feel sorry for her character since we realise that the father of her baby is dead, and her family don't appear in the music video and so we as the audience are left to wonder if she even has any kind of family guidance. This particular outfit, in my opinion evokes a feeling of sympathy for the character which could in some respects help the audience understand the storyline, and could also allow us to relate with the character and the way that she clearly feels isolated from society beccause she feels as if no one understands her situation heance why she waks through the forest alone, and is rarely seen in camera frames with other people.

Again once more we see her wearing the same outfit, however with the same long parka coat and fur hood, again this makes her seem even more innocent because it's almost like she's trying to cover herself up from the world, making us as the audience feel symapthy for her because the idea of her trying to hide away and isolate herself is a common theme that runs throughout the music video.

Here she is wearing a flowy pale pink dress, the idea of the colours being a pale pink once more connotes the idea of innocence and the fact that she is young and still needs needs guidance. I believe her wearing this dress will in itself reveal her vunerability and the way that she does feel that she is alone, because of course the father of her child is dead and we don't see anyone else who would appear to be a supportive figure in her life, again portraying the way that she is alone.

Here we see the character is wearing a green/blue dress, which is sophisticated looking. I don't believe this is the right outfit for my character, because the colours are very tranquil and calming, which then almost reflects her life as very tranquil, which as we watch the muisc video and the storyline unfold, we know isn't true, since she seems to have a very hectic and emotional life as the storyline takes place. I would like her costume to reflect her life, meaning that it could possibly look ragged and a little scruffy, showing that she doesn't really care about her appearance because she has more important things to worry about, and also could portray the idea that she is under immense stress and pressure.

This is a very inoccent looking dress, which reaches almost all the way down to her toes. Again this communicates the whole idea of her innocence, because again it almost communicates the way that she is trying to hide away from the world. The colour black connotes the idea of darkness and depression and communicates the idea that her life is very confusing and emotional.

Again this is another couple of images of how she could be potentially dressed when she is walking through the forest. This of course is a very simple outfit, and she is wearing black skinny jeans, over a big coat and a scarf. This is just a nice warm outfit showing that it is a cold and overcast day.

This is another one of the outfits that I have chosen. She has wearing the big long coat again and she is also wearing a black skull crop - top style shirt. This is because it is portraying the idea that she is feeling down and the dark nature of her outfit, consisting of the back skinny jeans and the black top which creates a very "emo" feel to the outfit, again portraying the themes of emotions and feelings throughout.

Again this is a similar outfit, and looks very casual, however I don't think I will be choosing this outfit because the coat looks very smart and makes it seem as though she cares for herself even though in reality because of the trauma that she has experienced she is doing anything but caring for herself. In fact in certain ways I would like the costume to portray the idea that she is almost forgetting to look after herself because of all the stress and heartbreak that she is suffering through.
